North West TAS Outreach Diagnostic Clinic

Dr Anna Badcock Clinical Psychology is pleased to offer an outreach diagnostic clinic to the North West coast of Tasmania in partnership with Psychology Plus (Burnie)

About the Outreach clinic

The Outreach clinic is an independent initiative aimed at improving access to comprehensive psychological assessments that can assist with developing support plans for people experiencing challenges with school, work, or daily functioning in home life. Assessments are completed in line with the National Clinical Guidelines for the assessment, diganosis and treatment of Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Who is the clinic for?

This clinic will carry out comprehensive Autism and ADHD diagnostic assessments for children (6+) and adults. Please note, Anna does not offer educational or cognitive assessments directly; however, if such an assessment is indicated support can be arranged through other available services

What does the clinic involve?

The clinic is run over a 3 day period. The person being assessed and their informants will be asked to attend 2 - 3 in person appointments over that time to complete the interview portion of the assessment. The remainder of the assessment is then completed remotely, including liaison with referrers and school, review of questionnaire materials, and follow up consultation with the client and informants. A feedback session on the outcome of the assessment will also be held via telehealth.

Where is the clinic being held?

The clinic is currently anticipated to run twice per year; however, frequency may be increased based on demand.

Location: Psychology Plus; 12 Hale St, South Burnie TAS 7320

                Dates: 5th-7th of October 2026

Referrals: Please forward referral inquiries to drAnnaBadcock@protonmail.com

How much do assessments cost?

Further detailed description of fees and what assessments involve can be found on the 'Fees' and "Services' tabs of this website. For the travelling clinic, a $200 travel loading is applied to assessment fees to support the sustainability of the clinic. A deposit is required to secure bookings, with payment plans then put in place to assist in reducing the burden of upfront costs. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the outreach clinic, if cancellations are made within 5 business days of the first appointment this deposit cannot be refunded.

Total assessment fees are listed here (inclusive of travel loading and deposit):

Autism Assessments

  • Standard Fee - $2845

  • Health Care Card Holder - $2715

ADHD Assessments

  • Standard Fee - $1600

  • Health Care Card Holder - $1470

Please note, if you are seeking an assessment for both Autism and ADHD no additional fees are incurred for the combination of assessments and they are billed as an Autism assessment.

Unfortunately, Medicare rebates are generally not available for assessment services; if the person being assessed is aged under 25 and referred by a paediatrician or psychiatrist a portion of the assessment may attract a Medicare rebate.

Is there a waitlist?

Appointment spots are limited due to the nature of the outreach clinic. It is encouraged that you make referrals as early as possible to ensure timely access to service. A waitlist will be maintained to facilitate future clinic dates or in the event of cancellations.
